Rehab Splint: Guide & Care Instructions

Rehab Splint: Guide & Care Instructions

What does the Diastasis Rehab Splint® do?

Wearing the splint helps to reduce the amount of stretch on the connective tissue between your abdominal (recti) muscles and puts this connective tissue in a narrower and better position to heal. The splint brings the separated muscles closer together, making the Tupler Technique® exercises more effective.

How often should I wear my Diastasis Rehab Splint®?

It is important to wear the splint all the time so the connective tissue ‘continually’ stays in this narrow position. Wearing the splint at all times - even while sleeping - will help your connective tissue heal.

How long will I need to wear the Diastasis Rehab Splint®?

You can stop wearing the splint when your connective tissue is stronger and shallower and you have closed your diastasis. How long it takes to close your diastasis depends on the severity of your diastasis. Wearing a Diastasis Rehab Splint® is just one of the 4 steps of the Tupler Technique® Program. It is important to do all 4 steps of the program to close your Diastasis Recti.

Care Instructions

Continuously attaching and detaching the two sides of the Velcro will cause it to lose its effectiveness. Hand wash and air dry.

Splint Material Contents

Contraindications

If you are under medical care, please consult your physician or other health care provider before wearing this splint. Wearing a splint puts the displaced organs back to their original position and may put pressure on the organs above and below them. If you have any heart issues, only hold a splint (rather than wear it) while doing the seated and back-lying exercises. If you have any pelvic floor prolapse, please make sure you do not wear the splint too tight.
