I have blogged about belly support and binders before on this website, but I haven’t really written a blog talking specifically about Section Splints. At least writing splint in this blog ascertains to the correct type of belly support you should be using if you have a diastasis recti band. The proper belly support will section your abdominals into three; the pelvic region, navel and lower rib cage. All three areas may measure completely differently and show measurements independent of each other. I had no idea about this fact until I was measured. I think most women when they are measured are measured in one spot; rather than the proper three. That is why a Section Splintsare so important. They have three bands to hold each of the areas of the rectus abdominus.

As part of my training, we had to practice how to put on the Section Splints.I laughed so hard looking at the splint for the first time. It’s like looking at a packet of lego. I was so confused. After a few turns, it fell into place. It really supported the diastasis from stretching the connective tissue when moving and was a great prompt for me to remember to bend with my knees, not my back. The band would stay in place and give me great support. It kept the rectus abdominal walls in place. This is the most integral part of the four-part No Mummy Tummy program.

As part of the No Mummy Tummy programs, they require clients to wear a certified Section Splints, known as the Diastasis Recti Abdominal Splint. The purpose of this Section Splints is to position the connective tissue closer together to promote the healing process. It takes the stretch off the stretched connective tissue- or prevents a stretch by placing the recti muscles in the correct position.

As part of the No Mummy Tummy program, the Section Splints is part of a four-part program- rather but can be purchased as a stand-alone product for pregnant women. It is a fantastic product to give pregnant women, to ensure they move, exercise and are supported from the second trimester.

The No Mummy Tummy programs are suitable for pregnant and post-pregnant women. The Section Splints is suitable for pregnant women from their second trimester and post-pregnant mums. I fitted a mum with a Section Splints in her second trimester. It eliminated her back pain, corrected her posture and took some pressure off her pelvic floor, abdominal wall and made it much more enjoyable throughout the later of her pregnancy.

Without the Section Splints, she would have been in so much pain, and all over uncomfortable. Following her pregnancy, she actually reported limited separation and no effects on her back, pelvic floor or stomach. She still wears the Section Splints to this day.
